Women’s Museum of California
San Diego Comic Art Gallery
Liberty Station San Diego
March 31, 2018
Today we visited two small museums at Liberty Station.
First we looked in on the Women’s Museum. We wanted to see the exhibition on the history of women’s clubs, In the Company of Women, before it closed. This was the last day, so sorry blog followers, not something we can send you to see. (We seem to be seeing the tail end of lots of shows lately. Better than missing them entirely, though!) The next exhibition will be #METOO, an art exhibit from the Latin American Art Festival, running April 6-29. Meredith is marking her calendar for the exhibition about the history of women lawyers in California, coming in September 2018. The Women’s Museum is open 12 pm to 4 pm, Wednesday through Sunday.
We also looked through the long running display about women’s suffrage. Some new material is out in the display cases, since the last time we were there.
Next we went across the lawn to the Comic Arts Gallery. The current exhibit shows the work of the IDW company and runs February 2, 2018 – May 18, 2018. The gallery’s website says it is open Monday to Friday, 10 am to 4 pm, but we found it open on the Saturday that we visited.
Both facilities are on a single level and fully accessible. Regular adult admission at the Women’s Museum is $5; there is no admission charge for the Comic Art Gallery. Parking is free at Liberty Station.
